soo my hair's kinda flat

and i have side bangs,

i'd really like it if my hair could kinda poof/spike out liek this girls

(sorry if this is you, but i got this off a site that talks about different hair styles, so i'm assuming the people that uploaded these pictures know that their pics are being used for hair-style-usage and whatnot)

i reaaaally want my hair to do poof/spike out like that around the top and the sides.. but the thing is, i'm like super paranoid about global warming and everything, (and i know that most hairsprays are less harmful now) but i try not to use hairspray as much.. especially if its simply for the sake of "looking good"

anyways.. if you have any ideas, answer pleaaaase!

Get a razor or knife and kind of...scrape at the ends of your hair then spary in some Garnier Fructis shake effect liqui-gel. Then just mess with it for awhile.

Well..her hair is textured to fall like that. she probably uses a hair wax and puts it through her hair then takes a flat iron or a round brush and gets it to rest like that. A little more wax and taking individual chunks of hair and that gives the spikey look. But you should ask a hair dresser if your hair is the right texture (I'd love for mine to do that too, but my hair isn't the correct texture)

try spraying in some hair gel after a shower and letting it dry naturally, then shaking your hair and flipping it and messing it up a bit when its still a bit damp. And using some hairspray and a brush to poof it up a bit

I think your dream hair girl is wearing a wig first of all, but I agree with the first post that said using a razor. The wig definitely has a "razor" cut to get it to look feathery like that . Also, having the correct texture helps. Otherwise it won't look cute for very long, it will just be damaged looking before you know it.

Why don't you try a wig or a few colored weave pieces? That's fun and will appease your mom, too.
